Annual Audit Results

As a local government, Alderwood Water & Wastewater District (District) is accountable to its ratepayers. A key advocate for local government accountability and fiscal integrity is the Washington State Auditor’s Office (SAO). The State Auditor is elected by the citizens of this State and as an elected agency the SAO conducts independent audits of state and local governments. Each year the SAO conducts an audit of the District to review the District’s financial statements and its compliance with state, federal and local laws and policies.   For the 2011 calendar year, the District again received a clean audit with no findings.
