The Alderwood Water and Wastewater District has now successfully replaced approximately 29,000 feet of water main along Highway 99 between 152nd Street SW and 116th Street SW and adjoining residential areas as part of the Highway 99 Water Main Replacement Project. This project replaced waterlines that were constructed in 1933 and 1946 and helps assure the community safe and reliable water service.
Successful completion of this project, that is, being on time and on budget, resulted from cooperation from property owners, businesses and the traveling public together with teamwork between District staff, the project designer, the construction manager, the contractor, and staff from outside partner agencies, including the Washington State Department of Transportation, Snohomish County and the City of Everett. Everyone understood the importance and urgency of doing the job right, and worked together to achieve those goals.
The District appreciates the patience and understanding of all those affected by this large complex project and the opportunity to work with the public and agency staff during the construction of this project.
