Discounts:

1. Low-income senior citizens shall be entitled to a 34% discount off of their monthly water and sewer service.
2. The low-income Senior Citizen Discounts will be available only upon application and will only apply to monthly water and sewer service rates.

Low-income Senior Citizen shall be defined as an individual:

1. who is 62 years old or older at the time of application;
2. who resides in the residence where the discounts are being requested;
3. whose residence has a separate water meter;
4. whose total adjusted annual income, as defined on the application, shall not exceed $30,000 per year including all persons living in your home;
5. who is the named customer on the District’s utility billing.

Applications for Discounts:

1. Applications are available at the Main Office of the Alderwood Water District or mailed to any district customer, upon request. An electronic version of the application is also available to download (see link on this page).
2. Applicant must complete a renewal form annually and file it with the District.
3. A Notice of Renewal of Application will be mailed annually by the District to those currently receiving a discount. The completed renewal application form must be returned to the Alderwood Water District within 30 days.
4. Discounts will commence on the next subsequent billing date following application.
